Our strategic plans are
based upon a strategic framework that has been developed by
JA
Worldwide®. This framework provides the over
all strategic guidelines that each area is to follow. Our Board of Trustees has adopted this template.
The
JA Worldwide® Vision is a straightforward document. It has four basic parts
and each part serves a different purpose:
The
Core Purpose spells out our organization's fundamental
purpose. It answers the question "why do we exist?" It conveys
the "soul" of our organization, our idealistic motivations, and
represents the value we bring to society.
The
Core Values spell out our fundamental, inviolable
organizational beliefs. They define what we stand for and what
we hold onto. Our values serve as a set of timeless guiding
principles that require no rational or external justification.
They represent the way we want to conduct our business.
The
Long-Term Aspiration
spells out our long-term vision for
JA. This vision might take 10-30 years to achieve. It clearly
represents thinking beyond our current capabilities,
constraints, and impact. It is intended to make us stretch and
grow in pursuit of the vision.
The
Envisioned Future
provides a vivid picture of what JA
will look and feel like when we achieve our Long-Term
Aspiration. The
Envisioned Future
is intended to help us
identify the critical success factors we must pursue to make our
vision a reality. It will guide us in the development of
supporting objectives, strategies, and tactics as we move into
the future.
Our Core Purpose
The organization's fundamental reasons for existence (why we exist) - not the result of our business, not a goal or a business strategy, but the value we bring to society - the idealistic motivations, the "soul" of the organization

Our Core Values
A small set of
timeless guiding principles that require no rational or external
justification (how we want to conduct our business).
Fundamental,
inviolable beliefs of the organization. They define what we
stand for and what we would hold onto, even if it became a

Commitment to the principles of market based economics and entrepreneurship
Passion for what we do and honesty, integrity and excellence in how we do it

Our Long Term Aspiration
Should stimulate progress and create excitement (requires stretch and growth on the part of the entire organization). Takes 10-30 years of effort to complete, with a 50-70% probability of success. Thinks beyond the current capabilities of the organization, current environmental trends, forces, and conditions
To be recognized by businesses, educators, and policymakers around the world as the premier organization for inspiring and preparing young people to become successful, contributing members of the global society, and for uniting people of all nations around the common goals of creating jobs, building stable economies, and providing higher standards of living.
